There really wasn’t a lot of change in Henrietta’s character, but she was a solid character throughout; it’s always interesting to have a lead character with some sort of physical defect and see how the level of knowledge available at the time deals with that issue.

Well done, enjoyable book. Knowing her from the foool book, I am rooting for her, but I worry that if I read this book first, she and Sebastian would be hard characters to like.
I know that this is historical fiction and we’re separated in time by over years, but this scene and all it implies just feels ridiculous. While this book is definitely about Henrietta and Simon, it’s also about Esme and Sebastian Everyone supposes that he has written it to her, but the truth hardly matters in the face of the scandal to come if they don’t marry at once. It fit the two characters perfectly.
So, while debutantes swoon as he disdainfully strides past the lovely ladies of the ton, he ignores them all Could it be possible that he has been the foolish one all along?
