Near fine in rare dust jacket. Light wear at edges, bumping to corners. Jacket verso has clear masking tape layer, slightly trimmed front flap, presents very well, though. The Gangs of New York: Medium shelfwear, Interior clean as a whistle. The jacket, on the other hand, has taken hits and then taken some more. Front is complete and bright if browning at the edges, ditto the back.
The jacket spine, however is almost entirely missing, showing the bright and solid red spine with yellow text and decoration. A small bookplate on the front pastedown and a neat owner’s name on the front fly, else a tight, fine copy, without the dustwrapper.
Basis for the film with Charles Bickford and Ann Dvorak, though not the basis for the film of the same name. Seldom found in this condition. Between the Covers- Rare Books, Inc.
