Despite consid- erable repetition of points made in previous chapters for example, practice is im- portant, boxing requires discipline, the sport provides a functional alternative to the culture of the streetI found this section to be the most enjoyable part of the book. It is a virtuoso performance that could–if properly read and disseminated and emulated–put the study of sport at the center of all sociological theorizing and analysis.
