Certainly this book will annoy some with its portrayal of women, but I also think it is important for many novels that we recognize the time and context in which they were written over 40 years ago, in France and by a male and not overlay it with the evolving and changing values of today.

In fact, there was only one copy in ALL th Maleil considering possible apocalyptic novels to read, I remembered reading a novel in the late 70s that I enjoyed. Next I began searching for a book that is considered very difficult to find.
